The highway opens up in front of us, flanked on both sides by pine trees and ragged cliffs. Past apple orchards the road winds up the mountain, closer and closer to Mount Hood. For a late summer’s day in September the sun is shining hot and bright through the leaves, heightening the sense of giddiness and anticipation that’s in the air. Whitney and Cole decided to have their Portland wedding at Mount Hood Organic Farms and it’s the perfect fit.
It’s a beautiful place that shows off all the Pacific Northwest has to offer. But that’s not why. Whitney and Cole together are like the flap of the wings of a bird soaring above, high in the sky. One single swoop, a rush of air and the wind lifts it up into the air. It will always be a sight that takes you a little by surprise. Whitney and Cole, they are like that. One look at each other and their faces light up, a touch of their hands ends up as a smile in the corners of their mouths. They lift each other up and fit together. So here is a beautiful sunny late summer day on a pear farm near Mount Hood, celebrating little moments like this.
All shot on Fuji 400H, developed and scanned by Richard Photo Lab. Massive thanks to the ever amazing Annie McGarry for being the best wingman I could ask for.
