Sometimes a story starts quite small and ends up being bigger than anyone could imagine. With Gesina and Erik this is kind of how their story goes. From growing up in the same village, being good friends for years but nothing more, through Erik finally trying his luck (to little avail at first) and Gesina realising that he may have a point to living together first in Berlin and now in New York. And getting married to their best friend to spend their lives together, no matter where.
I met Gesina and Erik last year for their civil ceremony and to say that I was looking forward to spending more time with them and their families would be an understatement. People as warm hearted as these are few and far between. I count myself incredibly lucky to have met them and hope that I can continue to follow their story, for it seems far from over.
A big thank you goes to Nina Reinsdorf for being my helping hand and support on the day and to Anna Brinkmann for a most wonderful day that would not have been the same without her.
