“It’s in Scotland!” That’s what Jill’s first email to me said. She may have mentioned a date but really, all the important stuff was in that one sentence. Photographing a Scottish Highland wedding at Coos Cathedral at the end of September? Yes, please.
With Jill and Russ being a super fab couple, the most luscious flowers by the amazing girls of Pyrus, floating balloons filled with confetti and BruceDog sporting a bow tie – it’s safe to say this was a wedding to remember. Just perfect to make me want to come back to Scotland all the time now.
Coos Cathedral is a fantastic venue with a more or less blank canvas – a light filled canvas in the stunning landscapes of the Royal Deeside. Just a stone’s throw from Balmoral Castle with the Highlands off in the distance the setting was just perfect for Jill and Russ’ wedding day. Plus I got to experience my first Ceilidh dancing – I mean really, what’s not to love about Scottish weddings?
Thanks to Dasha for helping me out on the day and for Susie of Knot and Pop for handling the running of the day so smoothly. This wedding has been featured in the May/June issue of Brides magazine and I’m happy to finally show it on my blog, too!
Shot on film and digital, all film Kodak Portra 800 and Tri-X, scanned and developed by the UK Film Lab.
