Just as the first hint of sun in days was peeking through the clouds I got a text from Sarah. “It’s pouring down here, shall we still go ahead?”. Some frantic pacing about to check the sky, then the forecast and back to staring at the clouds in the sky I decided that yes, we were. Enough of this weather already! Wellies at the ready I met up with Sarah and Damian at Primrose Vale fruit farm to trudge through the mud, hopefully evade more downpours and most importantly, pick a whole lot of strawberries.
And we got lucky. It was sunny and warm, there were strawberries aplenty and raspberries so delicious we could not believe it. But suddenly that one massive black cloud that we’ve been ignoring for the last hour remembered what it’s meant to do and it started to rain. Quite heavily. And quickly. So we took shelter in the raspberry tents, tested Sarah’s fab (and coveted by me) new parka and made sure we had enough fruit to feed an entire army. Which by the way is a great way to start a Monday morning, adding freshly picked fruit to your breakfast.
What a wonderful Sunday to spend with you, Sarah and Damian! I hope you’ve enjoyed Berlin and I will see you on a dry, sunny and warm Saturday in September. We’re through with the rain now so it will be just fine.
