Photographing an elopement at Point Reyes is one of those things you didn’t know you wanted to do, until you do it. Angela and Derek found me through Angela’s sister Katie, and I’m so glad they did! On a very windy and foggy day we found our way up the peninsula to celebrate these two getting hitched. Over the years I have grown pretty comfortable with the fog in the Bay Area, to a point where I really enjoy how it shapes the light and landscape. Everything can change from one second to the next.
Luckily for me both Angela and Derek and their bridal party took the wind and fog in their stride, not blinking an eye at hair in their face and vistas being obscured entirely. We all shivered and laughed our way through this touching ceremony and had the best time scrambling around nebulous cliffs after. It’s all about the people you are with, and Angela and Derek know how to choose those wisely.
