The sun bounces off the field next to all of us and finds its way into Rose’s hair. She looks at Ash, her smile getting wider. His hand finds hers and they both turn towards the group of people gathered around them, cheering as the two of them are pronounced husband and wife.
Just an hour earlier all of Rose and Ash’s families and friends walked up a hill in the Buckinghamshire countryside to get to Cowpers Alcove – a folly with wonderful views of the landscape and rolling fields. After the outdoor humanist ceremony officiated by the lovely Zena Birch we all make our way back down to the village where a marquee has been put up on the playing field.
There are oysters and a red Valentino dress, food is served on a gumball conveyor belt and for desert there are freshly made Portuguese pastel de nata. I don’t know which part to highlight as my favourite because it all came together as a fantastic day full of love and happiness for these two amazing people, Rose and Ash. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of it all!
